Get Involved

Mitchell Thorp Foundation (MTF) volunteers come in all ages and sizes. Our volunteers are children, teenagers, baby boomers, seniors and all ages in between. We could not do the work we do without the support of our volunteers donating their precious time to help serve the families whose children suffer from life-threatening illnesses, diseases and disorders.

Our volunteers give their time, energy, expertise and creativity. But most of all they give from their hearts. Whether you spend a few hours wrapping presents, deliver meals, help out at our fund raising events or you represent us within your community or your workplace. Please join the MTF family and our incredible volunteers by getting involved. It will not only change for the better the children and families we serve, but change yours in the process. Share in our journey of giving hope to them in their greatest time of need.

Get in touch with us and get involved! Please make sure to let us know your interests and availability so we can provide the best match with our volunteer opportunities.

Why Volunteer?

"Having had a critically ill child, we know well the stress, fear and sense of isolation that families have in this situation. The Mitchell Thorp Foundation and their volunteers where there for us. Supporting us and giving us the comfort and love we needed. We didn't feel like we were alone on this journey. Since our son Sam is in remission now, we volunteer with MTF and give back to other families. We feel that we are helping to make a difference and life just a little easier for other families in need just as MTF gave to us."
-The Reiser Family
"We love supporting the Mitchell Thorp Foundation through our school and our Dance Teams. The Lancer Dancers and Excalibur Dance team participate by bringing entertainment to the MTF Fundraisers each year."
-Gina Garcia, Organizer
"Every year we bring out our Fire Truck and grill hot dogs and give out drinks at the 5K Run/Walk. It gives us such pleasure to see the children and families so happy."
-Carlsbad Firefighters Association
"We can all do something. Give and it will be given to you. Luke 6:38"
