What is the Youth Leadership Council?
MTF has a strong commitment to developing and inspiring youth leadership in our community and that is why we developed the Youth Leadership Council. The membership consists of 7th—12th grade students representing public and private schools throughout the San Diego region. Students are selected through an application process. The primary focus areas of the group are community service and leadership development, with the objective of fostering the development of young leaders while developing life skills. Members will have the opportunity to plan and carry out activities and events in support of the Foundation's Mission. Members will also have the opportunity to participate in a structured servant leadership development program. The team will also host our Youth Leadership Showcase event every year to be held in April/May. Members will receive credit for community service hours for all time spent in program activities. What do Students Get in Return?
Each student receives community service hours for their participation in the program. Senior students receive special recognition in our annual Youth Leadership Showcase event.
