Junior Advisory Board
Our Mission: Supporting families whose children suffer from life-threatening illnesses, diseases and disorders, by providing financial, emotional and resource support to their desperate situation.
To make a difference today for a child who is fighting for their tomorrow, while bringing hope, relief, and transforming lives in the process.
What is the Junior Advisory Board?
MTF has a strong commitment to developing and inspiring youth leadership in our community and that is why we developed the MTF Junior Advisory Board. This volunteer-focused leadership program consists of 8th—12th grade students, who represent public and private schools throughout the San Diego region. Students are selected through an application process and fulfill a two-year term. During their term, students have the opportunity to experience, firsthand, how young people enjoy helping kids through various activities throughout the year.
What is the main goal of the Junior Advisory Board?
The MTF Junior Advisory Board's primary goal is to provide opportunities for students to be involved in community service activities that support the needs of our MTF families, and which will further inspire them to be involved in helping others. All members of the Board organize and execute events to inspire their peers to get involved in the community. The students meet monthly to create, plan, coordinate and participate in events and activities that further develop quality life skills and promote positive values for their lives.
What do Students Get in Return?
After a one-year commitment, each student receives community service hours for their participation. They also receive a letter of recommendation for their distinguished service and a framed certificate.
