Donation Benefits: Olive's Growing Needs
On 30 January 2016, Olive was born. Deceased. For 24 minutes, doctors and nurses fought to bring her back. Just as they were giving up, Olive\'s eyes opened and she returned to life. She came back from the dead. However, because she lost blood flow for so long, she sustained cerebral palsy and hypoxic ischemia encephalopathy.
To support Olive, she has received full time nursing care, specialized medical care, and orthotics. Our current focus is onto gaining an equipment lift and transfer seat to enable her and her equipment to be more easily loaded into her vehicle. This is in large part due to her continued (and healthy!) growth, along with that of her equipment. In the future, we will also need to look towards modifying our home for the same reasons.
She\'s growing up strong and well supported. Support comes from many places. But, amongst the most supportive, are the Mitchell Thorp Foundation.
